About

Hi!  My name is Ron Stollman.
Born in 1976 currently residing in Herzliya Israel.
My first serious camera I got when I was seventeen so around half my life I’ve been passionate about photography.
For me a great picture is one that makes you stop and look for a while and then return after thinking about it.  Photos can inspire, they can tell a story.  They are able of capturing in a frame only what is essential like sculpting away from stone all that is unnecessary.
Going digital was quite a step for me but I haven’t looked back. My PC is my lab and I love it.  In fact the post processing lately of my work has become more and more of a passion.
My wife is from the Philippines and on our last visit it gave me a chance to capture the beauty and raw spirit of a place that has become so close now.  People generally were so responsive to me and helped me capture a world that is remote to the West yet close to my heart.  It gave me the ability to share with others what I see and love about the country.  Especially when visiting the remote parts.
Elderly people and children were my main interest there.  People living in physically demanding environments, with hard working hands and wrinkled features. Children that are out and about playing and living naturally within their surroundings.  All this not mentioning the beautiful nature, the tropical green against the clouds which for me are the landscape of the heavens.
Facades  is a project that has been going for several years.  Neve Zedek – the old area near Jaffa has wonderful houses and windows and there is always something new to see when walking through the roads and alleys.  I have also included images from other parts that are included in this  evolving project.
I love the beach, the energy of the sand and pebbles really inspire me.  I try to capture the atmosphere of the sea, the sand and rocks.  Living so close has helped me visit and see children and sunsets.  Waves colliding with rocks- these things have a great energy for me.
In my Black&White work I try and focus once again on the shadows and aspects of things that would otherwise not be too interesting whilst walking by, but with a photographic perspective, the trivial can become a wonderful capture.
HDR is something that is a lot of fun and is always surprising to see the results after shooting.  Sometimes the ordinary can gain an extreme makeover with this art-form.
For those interested in contacting me and inquiring for more information on photo books or general occasions feel free to contact me.
Thanks once again for visiting and helping me share my photographic vision and feel welcome to respond.
Kind Regards,
Ron Stollman
